Woodlands in the Anthropocene: A Conference
Date: 11 June 2018 from kl. 9.15-16
Location: Aarhus University, Eduard Bierman Søauditorierne, Building 1252, Room 204
Co-organisers: Jens Christian Svenning (AU Bioscience) and Anna Tsing (AU Anthropology) as part of the Aarhus University Research on the Anthropocene (AURA)?? project
Please join us for a one-day conference exploring the histories, presents, and futures of woodlands.
This event explores how scholars might better understand woodland change by bringing together research on large-scale global forest shifts with detailed case-based histories about woodlands in particular places.
In doing so, it fosters an interdisciplinary conversation among noted scholars from the social and natural sciences, including Matteo Garbelotto (forest pathology), Janet Franklin (landscape-scale forest dynamics), Osamu Saito (rural production landscapes), Andrew Mathews (forest histories), Annik Schnitzer (plant diversity), Pep Serra-Diaz (forest system modeling), Jens Christian Svenning (geospatial forest ecology), and Anna Tsing (environmental anthropology).
The event is free and open to all, but please register at: https://events.au.dk/WoodlandsintheAnthropocene/registration.html??
