The next AURA Slow seminar that we hope you will join us for, will take place October 6, from 14-17 at Jens Chr. Skous Vej 3, building 1453, room 513. There will be dinner afterwards if you have the time.

Copies of these books have been ordered to Stakbogladen:

Donna Haraway, 2008. When Species Meet.  University of Minnesota Press (the book is now at the University Bookstore, Stakbogladen). If you have limited time, just read Chapters 1, 4, 8, 12.

Scott Gilbert and David Epel. 2009. Ecological Developmental Biology.  Sinauer Associates (the book should be available in Stakbogladen). Anna  recommends the book particularly for those without professional training in biology; it takes us through all the steps to understand this kind of work.  For those who need help with the basic biology, please read Chapters 1-3 and 8.  Everyone might read the Coda, which sets up the dialogue with Haraway.

Please also  read some of his more recent articles:

Article #1: http://blogs.bu.edu/ait/files/2012/12/SymbioticViewQRB.pdf

Article #2: Scott Gilbert: "Ecological developmental biology: environmental signals for normal animal Development" in EVOLUTION & DEVELOPMENT, 14:1, 20–28 (2012).

Please write back to me if you plan on attending the Slow seminar and would like to join us for dinner. We hope to see as many of you as possible.
