Alark Saxena is the Program Director of Yale Himalaya Initiative and a Lecturer at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies (2014- present). Alark’s primary interests are in poverty alleviation, sustainability of natural resources and developing resilient communities. He has more than 20 years of field and research experience in natural resource management issues associated to agriculture, forestry, biodiversity conservation, rural livelihoods and risk reduction in developing countries. Geographically, his research work is sited across Eastern Europe, Middle East, Central, South and East Asia, and, Latin America and the Caribbean. Alark has an MBA in Forestry management (2003) from Indian Institute of Forest Management, Masters in Environmental Management (2007) and PhD in Global Change (2015) from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies."
